Jimmy is one of the few Male Pitching Instructors that pitched competitive Men's Fastpitch Softball. Almost all Male pitching coaches had daughters that pitched... they did not pitch Men's Fastpitch Softball.
My advantage is when
a student asks a question about a pitch,
plant foot, drag feels ETC... I know how it feels...
I do not have to ask anyone what the pitcher is talking about.
I wasn't a Steve Padilla or Otto Thill. But I do know what it is like to pitch 5 games in a weekend.
Jimmy pitched for the Old Friends, Charlie's and the Delta Rebels to name a few in the '80's and the'90's. Jimmy was the pitching coach at Ceres high school from 1991-1998 (in 1995 winning a section title) , Central Valley Sacrafice 18's in the mid 90's and Modesto Junior College from 1998-2002 (winning the Nor-Cal JC Championship ) .
We are proud of the fact that 95% of our students that start with Jimmy stay with him all the way thru their college days. We are one of the few instructors that can and have worked with students at all levels, beginning, intermeiate, and all the way up to college DI.
My Mentors...
I give credit to two individuals that have taught me how to teach.Phil de la Porte- Phil coached college basketball at Idaho State and Ceres H.S. for over 35 years! Phil told me one time " you know your stuff but you need to have an agenda".Mike "Otto" Thill- Otto would wait on my front porch every Sat or Sunday to work-out. This went on for years!
When Otto moved to Montana he told me you have two students. He introduced me to them and left. From then on I was giving pitching lessons if I wasn't playing myself.
